Overview

The Digital Tech should be someone who is well organized, possesses strong time management skills, be extremely interested in digital photography workflows, asset management with a strong personal interest in photography. The Digital Tech works directly with the photographer, stylists and art directors during on-model shoots to ensure proper capture and labeling of incoming images, as well as assisting those team members during the final image selection process. Techs are responsible for properly processing the all images shot in and out of the studio for post-production on all web and creative projects. They will work closely with the Web Producer to maintain the web studio’s image archive, troubleshooting web imagery, and uploading wholesale product. Most of these task will be performed in Capture 1 and Creative Force, Nuuly photo studio’s asset management software. The Tech will be responsible for learning and becoming proficient in both software programs, if not already. In down time, the Tech will be called upon to assist the retouching team (proficiency with Adobe Photoshop is required), and is responsible for software updates, researching new hardware/software workflow combinations, and monthly monitor calibrations of all image-capturing computers. Techs will also serve as a photo assistant on set, and may act as photographer on social and studio projects depending on studio needs. This is a location dependent job and the Tech will be expected to come into the studio most days, but will WFH when not due in the studio.

Responsibilities
  • Manage real-time workflows using Capture 1 & Creative Force
  • Learn to be proficient with Creative Force
  • Manage archive of all web images
  • Optimize digital work flows and suggest process changes to improve efficiency
  • Process all RAW images and pass to according teams
  • Assist photographer with lighting and grip
  • Color calibrate all computer monitors to insure proper image representation
  • Work with sample coordinators, visual merchandisers, and stylists to insure the images are delivered by their deadlines
  • Maintain and update hardware/software
  • Photo equipment management
  • Photo studio and set maintenance
  • Potentially shooting social, on-model, and flats projects

Qualifications
  • Knowledgeable of digital photography workflow
  • Hands-on experience of the Nikon and Sony camera system
  • Mac OS X proficiency
  • Hands-on experience with Capture One Pro
  • RAW processing proficiency
  • Photography studio experience needed
  • 3 years of experience digital teching and/or photography in ecommerce studio
  • Asset and file management experience is a plus
  • General web image knowledge, such as web standards and color spaces
  • Extremely organized with strong sense of time management
  • Basic IT and troubleshooting skills
  • Retouching/Photoshop proficiency preferred
  • Strong interest in fashion/still life/fine art photography

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Photography or a related field
In field work experience accepted
